The Two B’s: Broccoli and Brussel Sprouts

Yeah, I know. Most men fight certain vegetables in their diet. And when it comes to Broccoli and Brussel Sprouts, I know that most men are in no rush to try to eat these two vegetables together.

The Problem: Most men know that these two veggies are packed with healthy cancer fighting compounds that they need in their diet; however, they just can’t find a way to eat them without compromising taste.

The Solution: With a little creativity and a lot of attempts, I have figured out a way to capture the health benefits of these veggies without compromising flavor…  I added a third B…

The Three B’s: Bacon, Broccoli, and Brussel Sprouts!

Watch this video and follow these easy steps and you will be amazed how these healthy vegetables and a few everyday ingredients combine with perfect flavor that any Dad will enjoy!

Ingredients: Creates (4) Servings

½ Pound Broccoli Crowns

½ Pound Brussel Sprouts

½ Cup of California Pistachios, Chopped

(1) 3oz. Package of Hormel, Peppered Bacon Bits

1- Garlic Clove, Chopped

2-Tablespoons Honey

2- Tablespoons, Olive Oil

Equipment: 9 –inch Fry Pan with a Lid

Cooking Steps:

Cut Broccoli crowns down to bite size pieces. Cut Brussel Sprouts in half and mix all vegetables together in large bowl. Add your chopped garlic clove into the bowl.

Heat (Dry) Fry Pan, Medium Heat. Now add the cut vegetables into the pan. Allow the Broccoli and Brussel Sprouts to get a little “toasty” before adding the Olive Oil.

Now add the oil and let the veggies get a little burned on the sides. Keep the veggies moving in the pan and allow them to cook for 10 minutes with the lid over the pan.

Add  ½ cup of water into the pan to create a little steam to your veggies for another 5 minutes. Keep lid over the Broccoli and Brussel Sprouts and get ready to drop the Bacon and Pistachios in… We are now 15 minutes into cooking the vegetables.

At this time, add the bacon bits and pistachios into the pan of veggies and mix the entire contents of the pan together. Keep lid over for another 5 minutes, then REMOVE the pan from direct heat, ( keep lid on)

As the pan is off the heat, remove lid and squeeze the honey over the cooked vegetables… Are you ready?

Man Up and eat more Vegetables.
