Shopping List / Ingredients:
2- Ready Made, 9-inch pie crusts
1-Cup Mushrooms, Diced Pepper and Onion
1 ½ Cups of graded cheese, (Gruyere & Sharp Cheddar)
4- Eggs
1-Cup Milk
½ Cup Cream (Half&Half)
Salt & Pepper
Equipment: Mixing Bowl, 2- Pie Pans (steep sided pan), Oven Pre-Heated at 350* F
Cooking Steps: Crust Prep
Pre-heat oven at 350*F
We need to take care of our pie crust first because you need a cooked crust before the main ingredients go into the pan. I like a thick crust, so in this recipe I need you to take both 9-inch pie-crusts and combine them to wrap around the pie tin. Pinch the sides and save any leftover pie crust for “patch work” you may need after the first baking.
Heat the oven to 350°F. Placed an “empty” pie pan and spray non-stick spray on the bottom of the pan and place the pan over the pie crust pan. This acts as a weight over the piecrust and allows the pie crust to pre-bake without “bubbling”. The empty pie pan acts as a weight. Bake for 20 minutes and remove the empty pie pan. Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes with the crust exposed until you see the crust starting to brown. Cool.

Next Step: Prepare the Filling
While the crust is cooling, it’s time to prepare your quiche filling. Take your Mushrooms, peppers and onions and cook together on a lightly greased skillet. /when done cooking, drain all excess liquids before being used as quiche filling. Next, take a fry pan and cook Butterball Turkey Bacon. Remove any excess oil and cut bacon down to small bite-sized pieces. Take half of your shredded cheese and line the bottom of your crust with a layer of cheese. Now in a separate bowl, mix all liquid contents together, (Eggs, Milk and Cream). Add your Butterball Turkey Bacon, Mushrooms, Pepper and Onion into the mix. Mix well.
Baking Time!
Bake the quiche at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes, until the edges are set but the quiche still jiggles a little in the center. Cool for at least 20 minutes before serving. Quiche can be served cold, room temperature, or warmed. If serving warm, heat in a 300°F oven until just warm to the touch.
Enjoy!
